\nKG Hospital, run by K.Govindaswamy Naidu Medical Trust, was�founded in 1974 by 'Dharmaveera' K.Govindaswamy Naidu, a leading industrialist�and philanthropist from Annur village in Coimbatore district. \n \nDr G.Bakthavathsalam�(MS, FICS, FCCP, FAMS), the Managing Trustee and Chairman of KG Hospital, has grown the hospital organically from a 10-bed hospital in 1974 to the state-of-the-art healthcare�provider it is today.� For his service to�society, Dr Bakthavathsalam (fondly known as Dr GB) has received numerous coveted awards including�Padma Shri Award�from the President of India and�Dr B.C.Roy Award�from the Prime Minister of India. \n \n

The hospital is also the first hospital in Coimbatore to win the prestigious Platinum DL Shah Award from the Quality Council of India.

- KG-Kalam Little Hearts Foundation: Through this initiative launched by Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, former President of India, we have performed more than 500 free heart surgeries on children. \n \t
- 450 poor children with heart defects were operated under the noble scheme of Government of Tamil Nadu at highly subsidised rates \n \t
- Provided free heart surgeries for more than 1600 people along with Government of�Tamil Nadu \n
\n \t - KG Eye Hospital performed 85,000 free Intra Ocular Lens (IOL) surgeries to remove cataract on rural poor \n \t
- Every month, 100 units of blood provided to children with Thalessemia free of cost \n \t
- Over 6,00,000 people screened for hypertension via Free BP Clinic \n \t
- 3000+ free dialysis done as part of an ongoing charitable program \n \t

- Coimbatore Bomb Blasts(1998): Only hospital in Coimbatore to bravely receive and save 250 bomb blast victims when all hospitals were closed \n \t
- Kargil War (1999): Donated Blood and blood components and philanthropic financial support towards Kargil War Relief fund \n \t
- Gujarat Earth Quake (2001): One of the first hospitals to rush to affected areas with blood components and medicines \n \t
- Thane Cyclone (2011): Financial support to Hon'ble CM of Tamil Nadu's cyclone relief fund \n \t
- Kumbakonam school fire tragedy (2004) - More than 300 units of blood plasma and drugs worth more than Rs 10 lakhs distributed \n

- Tsunami (2005): As one of the first responders, our ambulances carrying drugs, doctors and medical staff were rushed to the site and our staff worked in the Tsunami affected areas for more than 2 weeks \n \t
- Kerala Floods (2018): One of the first responder to screen ~10,000 people, distribute medicines and essentials \n \t
- Gaja Cyclone Relief (2018): Distributed medicines and conducted medical camp in the affected areas for 10 days. \n \t
- Covid-19 Pandemic (2020/21): Set up 150 bed KG Specialty Hospital (Saravanampatti) dedicated to treating Covid-19 patients. More than 3000 patients treated so far. \n
